Nick Jones Is Opening a New Boutique Hotel Near His Soho House Empire

Nick Jones doesn't do things by halves. The man who turned a Georgian townhouse in Soho into a global members' club phenomenon is plotting his return to London hospitality – and this time, anyone can check in.

The St Clement Hotel is Jones's first major project since stepping down as Soho House CEO in 2022. Rising above his existing deli-wine bar Corner Shop 180 on Arundel Street, the 90-room property ditches the velvet rope entirely. Think boutique luxury meets community-minded hospitality, minus the membership fees.

Opening in 2026, St Clement will pack in a rooftop restaurant, gym, and loft-style apartments for longer stays – targeting everyone from business travellers to weekend breakers who want somewhere with actual personality. Bath amenities come courtesy of British perfumer Lyn Harris, because of course they do.

London's hospitality scene is hardly thriving. Rising business rates, shifting nightlife habits, and a spate of closures have left the West End looking decidedly patchy. But Jones is clearly banking on the city's pull as a global destination – and on his signature formula of thoughtful design, proper food, and spaces people actually want to linger in.

While technically off-grid from Soho proper, St Clement sits firmly in its cultural orbit – a stone's throw from Jones's 180 House flagship. Where Soho House built its reputation on creative exclusivity, St Clement looks set to offer the same soulful design sensibility without the membership gatekeeping.

In a market dominated by faceless hotel chains, that's not nothing. Whether it sparks a wave of independent ventures or stands alone as a bold one-off remains to be seen. Either way, Jones's return is a reminder that London still has room for hospitality with a point of view.
